Mass to open seminary year

Mass to open seminary year

By William Chow

On Thursday the 9th February, the Seminary of the Good Shepherd community marked the beginning of the year with a Mass for Vocations and Holy Orders celebrated by His Grace, the Most Reverend Anthony Fisher, OP, Archbishop of Sydney.  During his homily, Archbishop Fisher emphasised the incredible bravery and what a leap a faith each of the seminarians have taken to test their vocations in the seminary.

The Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Danny Meagher, Rector, Fr. Simon Kitimbo, Vice-Rector, other priests on the seminary formation staff, as well as clergy from of the Archdiocese of Sydney, and beyond who send their seminarians to receive formation.  Signaling the increase of vocations the seminary welcomed fourteen new men into their first year of formation at the Good Shepherd.

After Mass, the Archbishop, the priests, the seminarians, and their families gathered in the seminary dining room to share a communal meal of celebration.

Please continue to pray our seminarians as they progress towards Holy Orders.
